Types of Affiliate Programs

Affiliate programs has become increasing popular nowadays as a way of generating more revenue. It is one way of marketing products or contents by sharing its revenue with its affiliates. This has given an opportunity to many people to earn more revenue and at the same time can widely publicise its products or contents.

Affiliate programs can come in different forms in how they share their revenue with its affiliates. Firstly, it can be categorised as pay-per-click basis. Meaning, affiliates will earn when people has genuinely click on the ads shown on their sites. Examples of such affiliate programs would be google adsense, yahoo publisher network, clicksor, etc. To get started with these programs, you need to have a site and let them approved it. Once approved, you can start placing the ads from them on your site.

Secondly, affiliates will earn when people purchased the products through them. Often you can see there are certain products sold online which you can earn good comissions sometimes as high as 75% if you help to promote and sell them. You can either advertise these products by placing a link on your site if you have one or you can create an advertising campaign. A popular way would be using google adwords campaigns creating a short message to attract people visiting your ads. In this case, you will have to set a budget for advertising them.

Thirdly, some affiliate programs will offer you commission when people has filled up a form for them through you. Usually, such affiliate programs would be credit cards companies, debt consolidation companies, etc. Whether the people decides to use their service or purchase their products will be up to them to settle. All you have to do is to provide leads for them and that’s what they are paying you for.

In my opinion, there are three key points to be successful making money through affiliate programs. First of them all would be the targeted traffic. If there is no one visiting your ads, there will be no chance of earning any revenue.

Next, would be the way you promote your products or programs to people. If you managed to attract visitors to take a look at products, you have a chance of earning some commission.

Last but not least would be the kind of programs or products you are recommending. If they are what your targeted traffic are looking for and are good quality essentials, a high chance people will buy.

Hot tips on finding Good Affiliate Programs

There are many who really seems to be making a lot from affiliate programs and there also many affiliate programs for people to join. You may be wondering what constitues a good affiliate program and which are best to promote. Here are five tips on how you can find hot affiliate programs to promote:

1) How Much Commission Will You Earn?

This will tell you whether the time and effort spent on promoting the product is worthwhile. It would of course better to promote a high paying program as you get a better return for your time and money.

However, there are times when promoting a lower commission product is a good idea if the product is really good and you can really sell a lot. Quantity will give you a good return.

2)How Often Are You Paid?

You will definitely want to know how long would it take to get paid. You may want it to be as soon as possible such as bi-weekly or sometimes slighter longer in a month’s time so that you can manage cash flow better.

3)Method Of Payment
The person running the affiliate program might be in a different country and if they send it by check they may take a higher percentage out of it. And if it is by check, it will usually take a longer time to reach you. Some offer wire transfer via paypal or bank which you might prefer since it will be faster

4) Minimum Payout.

This is related to the above two points. Depending on the minimum payout and how often and how you are paid - it might not be worthwhile you participating in the program. If, for example, the minimum payout is $20 and you are paid weekly by check and it costs you $30 to cash the check then there is no point participating if you cannot guarantee to earn more than $30 each week.

5) Types of Promotions Resources which are Available.

Good affiliate managers will offer a wide variety of resources to their affiliates to help them promote the product and make money. They could be articles, keyword lists and ads and with these resources, you can start to promote the products faster and easier. If the promotions resources are appealing and attractive, it can also help you to pull in more customers.
